Prize Presentation Dinner 2009

On 29th April we held our Prize Presentation Dinner which had a rescheduled date one week later than published. This was due to the fact that at the time I didn't realise the venue would not be available for that particular week. I am pleased to say, it all went very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food provided as ever by Phil Milne. The function was held at King George Field Indoor Bowling Club. I have been a member for about thirty years now and last year I was invited onto the board to become green manager for my sins. At last as revealed on the night I am able to pass on the results of all the competitions; One Minute - Bunty's Last Chirp by John Gannaway(Winner), The Spring Pole Lathe by Norman Bull(Runner-up). Five Minute - The Sub Tropical Garden by Barbara Gollop (Winner), Mad Jack by Diggy Mottram (Runner-up). Travelogue -Introduction to Corsica by John Gollop (Winner),Golden Days Part 7 by John Ellis (Runner-up).Non Holiday - One winter's Day by Norman Bull(Winner), Lost Gardens of Heligan by Barbara Gollop (Runner-up). Golden Days Part 7 by John Ellis was voted by our own members Film of the Year and also voted the Sound Cup for the best use of sound. We are also proud to announce two more surprise awards were presented on the evening in the form of certificates. John Gannaway was presented with a BIAFF 3 star award for his "Fallen Angels" made in the previous year. Barbara Gollop was presented with a BIAFF 2 star award for "Vulcan Restoration Trust Member's Day 5th August 2006". Well done you two! This year the judging team was kindly provided by Chichester Film & Video Makers made up of Jenny Wright, Rebekah Humphrey and the very judicious Harry page who is an actor and former film director. A bonus for the club came in the form of boost to club funds by the generous donation of raffle prizes donated by John Green bringing in over £40. Thanks everyone for your support and of a course a special thank you to John& Bridget Green.
